# The City of Tshwane has launched a central email address to handle complaints about illegal building works. This was influenced by numerous complaints about unauthorised building alterations and occupancy without certificates. Mayoral Committee Member for Economic Development and Spatial Planning, Hannes Coetzee, says complaints will be investigated thoroughly and possible prosecution processes may follow. Coetzee says they will act on valid complaints under the National Building Regulations.
