# The Special Tribunal has invalidated a 257-million-rand personal protective equipment contract awarded to Nkhane Projects and Supply by the Gauteng Department of Health. The Special Investigating Unit brought the case, citing non-compliance with the Public Finance Management Act and irregular procurement procedures. The Tribunal ordered Nkhane to submit audited financial statements and pay the SIU’s legal costs. This ruling also affects a related High Court case where Nkhane sought 89-million-rand from the department.
