# Telecom Namibia has reported service interruptions in fixed voice and data services in some areas of Windhoek, Katima, and Okahandja. The disruptions are a result of incidents of cable theft affecting infrastructure. Telecom Namibia’s CEO, Stanley Shanapinda, has cautioned scrap metal dealers against buying stolen copper wires and urged transport operators not to transport illegal copper products. Shanapinda emphasised that stealing copper wire from the national telecommunication network is illegal and constitutes a criminal offence:
