# South Africa’s Covid-19 test positivity rate stands at 7.6-percent. At five-percent, a pandemic is regarded as being under control. The National Institute for Communicable Diseases recorded two-thousand-489 new infections yesterday. Gauteng reported 942, or 38-percent, of the new cases and the Western Cape, 418 cases. KwaZulu-Natal accounted for 349, or 14-percent, of the new cases. Forty-three people had to be admitted to hospital. Nine Covid-19 related deaths occurred in the latest reporting period. The recovery rate remains just above 96-percent.
