# Soccer: European domestic leagues and unions including the Premier League and the Professional Footballers’ Association are suing the world governing body Fifa. It has been accused of failing to consult over recent calendar changes, such as the introduction of a 32-team Club World Cup. The leagues say FIFA has harmed the economic interests of national leagues and the welfare of players. Fifa says the calendar is the only instrument ensuring that international football can continue to survive, co-exist, and prosper alongside domestic and continental club football.
