# Businessman Sipho Pityana says he will be taking Absa to court after the bank fired him as a board director. He took the Reserve Bank’s Prudential Authority to court for alleged interference in his nomination as chair of Absa, a claim the Reserve Bank denied in its answering affidavit. Absa said that through his conduct, Pityana had neglected or been derelict in the performance of his functions. Pityana told eNCA that this decision by the bank is disappointing and unlawful:
