SACP calls on government to invest in carbon capture technology

# The South African Communist Party says it is essential to address the energy crisis as a matter of urgency and to forge a just transition that protects existing employment. During his state of the nation address yesterday evening, president Cyril Ramaphosa, said government is reforming the energy system to make it more competitive, sustainable and reliable in the future. The SACP says to lower carbon emissions, the government needs to invest in carbon capture technology and storage facilities for the coal-fired power sector.
