# George Municipality in the Southern Cape says the pipeline that provides the raw water supply from the Garden Route Dam to the balancing dams failed yesterday. The balancing dams in turn provide raw water to the water treatment works for purification. The second water pipeline, which  was damaged in last year’s floods and was scheduled for remedial works after the peak season, is now undergoing unscheduled repairs. The municipality’s spokesperson Chantel Edwards-Klose says once repaired, the pipeline will be recommissioned to restore the raw water supply to the balancing dams.
