# Rand Water successfully completed its 54-hour pipeline maintenance project in Gauteng yesterday evening. Parts of Gauteng including Johannesburg, Soweto, and Randburg were affected by reduced water supply. The B19 and B11 pipes, which underwent maintenance, take water to purification stations in Vereeniging and provide one-third of Rand Water’s water supply. CEO Sipho Mosai says the maintenance on the pipelines was necessary and could not be avoided:
