Ramaphosa signs Basic Education Laws Amendment Act into operation

# President Cyril Ramaphosa has signed the Basic Education Laws Amendment Act into effect today, following agreement among Government of National Unity parties. This follows recommendations by the GNU clearing house, to proceed without amendments to contested sections. The Act prioritises universal Grade R access and quality education for all children. Ramaphosa has instructed the minister of Basic Education Siviwe Gwarube to ensure system readiness and implement regulations. He emphasised constitutional adherence, urging all stakeholders to work towards leaving no child behind.
