# Western Cape MEC for Infrastructure, Tertuis Simmers, says following the completion of the 640-million-rand Malmesbury Bypass project in the Swartland region, 295 work opportunities would have been created. The construction of a 6.7-kilometre greenfield road link between the Hopefield Interchange on the N7 highway and the intersection of the R45 is progressing well. This project will feature five new bridges and a new grade-separated interchange. Simmers says the project is expected to be completed by November next year.
