# Putco has launched its new SmartTap digital ticketing system to improve convenience, flexibility, and security for commuters. The system addresses long-standing issues like fake tickets and ticket reselling by allowing passengers to load money onto their cards based on different trip categories. While the system went live last week, some passengers experienced challenges with using the new technology. Putco spokesperson Lindokuhle Xulu says the system offers options for casual and permanent passengers, with trip packages ranging from one to 52 rides.
