# The Zimbabwe Embassy in Pretoria is calling on Zimbabwe nationals living in South Africa affected by the cancellation of the Zimbabwe Special Permit to stay calm as the two countries continue to strengthen their bilateral relations. On 31 December South Africa terminated the permits issued to asylum seekers. Speaking to News24 the chairman of the Zimbabwean Community in South Africa, Ngqabutho Nicholas Mabhena says the government should consider providing a waiver for professions that are not indicated as critical skills, as the majority do not qualify for other visas.
