# President Cyril Ramaphosa has congratulated Auditor-General, Tsakani Maluleke, on her appointment as the External Auditor of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization. Maluleke, the first woman to assume the role of Auditor General in the country, from December 1, 2020, will serve in this new role for six years, from 2024 to 2029. Maluleke was elected to her UNESCO role on 16 November 2023 by members of various committees and subsidiary organs of this United Nations agency.
