# President Cyril Ramaphosa has confirmed that South Africa, along with Bangladesh, Bolivia, Venezuela, Comoros, and Djibouti, have jointly referred Israel to the International Criminal Court. ICC chief prosecutor Karim Khan confirmed receiving the referral and will initiate an investigation into alleged crimes in Gaza. Speaking at an IEC voter registration center in Meadowlands, Soweto, earlier, Ramaphosa reiterated South Africa’s commitment to ending impunity for war crimes. He expresses hope that the ICC will prioritise addressing the situation in Palestine:
