Petitions Committee expresses disappointment over Tshwane’s non-participation in service delivery hearing

# Gauteng’s Petitions Standing Committee has criticised the City of Tshwane for its failure to report on petitions scheduled for a public hearing this morning. It relates to various service delivery concerns. Out of ten petitions directly affecting areas such as Mamelodi, Eersterust, Rayton, Kameeldrift, and Ekangala, eight were meant to be addressed this morning. The committee’s chairperson, Ezra Letsoalo, expressed disappointment, stating that the City’s inaction undermines the Legislature’s mandate of public participation and oversight. Letsoalo says that this delay further impedes the resolution of critical service delivery petitions.
