Over 20-thousand pink eye cases reported in KZN [SOUND]

# The KwaZulu-Natal Health Department has confirmed over 20-thousand cases of pink eye, with eThekwini municipality reporting the highest numbers. The viral infection, first detected in February at Mangosuthu University, has spread to areas like King Cetshwayo, Umgungundlovu, Ilembe, and Ugu. Provincial Health Head of Department, Sandile Tshabalala, urges those with symptoms to seek treatment at healthcare centres. In addition he claims that E.Coli is an unlikely cause of pink eye infection:
