New vehicle sales decline further in March

# Vehicle sales have slumped further in March this year. The Automotive Business Council, naamsa, blames the constrained business environment amplified by weak consumer demand. Domestic new vehicle sales dropped by 11.7-percent when compared to March last year. Export
sales recorded a decline of 27.1-percent. The new passenger car market declined by 15.9-percent. Domestic sales of new light commercial vehicles, bakkies and mini-buses was only down by 4.3-percent.
