Nationwide curfew in Bangladesh following more than 100 protest deaths

# The Bangladeshi government has imposed a nationwide curfew after this week’s clashes between student demonstrators and police claimed at least 105 lives. Military forces have been deployed after police failed to quell days of deadly unrest that has spread throughout the country. The protests initially erupted over quotas that set aside 30-percent of government jobs for the families of those who fought for independence from Pakistan. It has been fuelled by high unemployment among young people, who make up nearly a fifth of a population of 170-million.
