# The National Sea Rescue Institute has been called in to assist the George Municipality to rescue people trapped in the midst of widespread floods. Over 100 millimeters of rain has been reported since last night and the city has appealed to residents not to be on the roads. Multiple reports of storm damage continue to surface. The South African Weather Service says adverse weather conditions may persevere for a few days. Craig Lambinon of the NSRI says the Southern Cape branch is assisting emergency services:
