# The National Employers Association of South Africa says Eskom’s continuous disruptive and unstable power supply is holding South African employers, and the public alike, hostage. The association’s chief executive, Gerhard Papenfus, says thinking that the resignation of the power utility’s CEO André de Ruyter, is somehow the answer to years of corruption and skewed transformation policies that have run Eskom into the ground, is simply denying reality. He adds that the full extent of the domino effect of the power utility’s woes on society is going to be disastrous.
