# President Cyril Ramaphosa bestowed national orders on two Eastern Cape heroes who were posthumously honoured with the Order of Mendi in gold. The Presidency says the families of Gqeberha Umkhonto we Sizwe stalwart Sizwe Kondile and Fort Beaufort’s reverend Isaac Wauchope received the honorary accolades on behalf of the two heroes. They respectively died in 1981 and 1917. Kondile was captured by Security Police in 1981 and shot  at point-blank range. Wauchope was an esteemed journalist and teacher.
