Nastassja Jansen’s legal team challenges State’s strategy to turn her into state witness in Thabo Bester case

# The legal representative for Nastassja Jansen, formerly accused in the Thabo Bester case, is perplexed by an alleged letter urging Jansen to become a state witness. As the pre-trial for Bester and his co-accused approaches, her lawyer, Masilo Koenane, has questioned the NPA’s methods. The NPA claims Jansen is a compellable witness, urging her cooperation to avoid prosecution. Charges against Jansen were previously withdrawn in the Bloemfontein Magistrate’s Court. He says the NPA did not stipulate any conditions upon her release and is not obligated to turn State witness.
