# Namibia’s central bank has implemented a policy to provide financial relief to the drought-stricken agricultural sector. The Bank of Namibia mandates lenders to offer loan restructuring, debt moratoriums and emergency funding with preferential terms to ease the financial burden on affected farmers and businesses. This policy, which will remain in effect until October 2026, aims to stabilise the industry amid the country’s worst drought in a century, impacting nearly half the population’s food security.
