N1 highway in Cape Town fast becoming a smash-and-grab hotspot

# Motorists driving on the N1 highway into the Cape Town CBD are increasingly being targeted by smash-and-grab criminals. In a recent incident, dashcam footage captured a robbery near the Lower Church Street bridge. Mayoral committee member for Safety and Security, JP Smith, has attributed the issue to nearby informal settlements and reports similar crimes citywide. Law enforcement has engaged over one-thousand-700 suspicious individuals in hotspot areas in the past 100 days. Residents are urged to stay vigilant and avoid known crime hotspots during the festive season.
