More than 80 objections lodged against candidates lists including Jacob Zuma [SOUND]

The Independent Electoral Commission says it has received 82 objections to candidates nominated by 21 political parties for the upcoming elections. The commission has considered objections based on criteria outlined in the Electoral Act and Constitution, dismissing objections against seven candidates. Six independent candidates will contest seats in the National Assembly. Briefing the media, the commission’s chairperson Mosotho Moepya says the IEC has upheld the objection to former President Jacob Zuma’s nomination for uMkhonto we Sizwe:
