# Higher Education, Science and Innovation minister Blade Nzimande has welcomed the arrest of a university student for allegedly stabbing a female student at a private student residence in Belhar, Cape Town. The 26-year-old woman is a student at Cape Peninsula University of Technology, while her alleged attacker, her boyfriend, is a University of Western Cape student. The department’s spokesperson, Ishmael Mnisi, says minister Nzimande is urging all institutions to continue working to implement programmes that address the challenges of sexual and gender-based violence:
