# Gauteng Education MEC Panyaza Lesufi is delighted that the eleven-year-old girl learner from E.P. Baumann primary school in Mayfair, Johannesburg who was kidnapped last year was returned safely today. The grade five learner was kidnapped at gunpoint outside the school gate. The department’s spokesperson, Steve Mabona says according to information at its disposal, the learner’s mother received a call from the police this morning informing her to come fetch her child at the police station:
