Marshalltown Fire Justice Campaign applauds Usindiso Commission report

# The Marshalltown Fire Justice Campaign has lauded the Usindiso Commission Report’s findings. The initial phase of the report attributes responsibility for the tragic fire that claimed 77 lives in Marshalltown to the City of Johannesburg and its entities. Campaigners demand swift implementation of the commission’s recommendations, urgent action on alleviating the housing crisis, and erecting a memorial plaque. In addition, they call for disciplinary action against negligent officials and support for victims, alongside prosecution of the fire starter and expedited ID issuance for affected individuals.
