# Anti-apartheid activist Lord Peter Hain has applauded whistleblower and author Athol Williams for his heroic stance for truth and bravery in exposing his former employers Bain and Company. Hain says government should make it a priority to protect and safeguard the lives of people who choose to expose private institutions. Williams is currently living in exile after testifying at the state capture inquiry:
