# The KwaZulu-Natal legislature has revealed crime-fighting in Durban is hindered by a lack of police vehicles. The legislature conducted a two-day oversight inspection of police stations around the eThekwini municipality. The district has a total of 42 police stations with over five-thousand police members. The Police Department in the province does not have enough capacity to buy new vehicles due to budget constraints. The department also has a challenge of staff shortages to do repairs and maintenance at garages.
