# KwaZulu-Natal law enforcement agencies have impounded 72 taxis for allegedly operating without permits, unroadworthiness, and traffic offences. The provincial Transport Department says the operation was conducted in targeted areas that are experiencing instability in the taxi industry. Greytown is reported to have illegal operators who have invaded the taxi rank and threatened to take over the operations. The department says as the festive season approaches it has adopted new strategies to build stable public transport and ensure safety on the road.
