# The City of Cape Town’s Water and Sanitation Directorate is urging registered indigent customers to not exceed the 15-thousand litres of free water a month. The city supplies free water to about 230-thousand-225 property owners, who are registered and deemed indigent. Mayoral committee member for Water and Sanitation, Zahid Badroodien, says after two consecutive months of excessive usage, a warning letter will be delivered to the customer, to advise of imminent restriction if consumption is not reduced.
