# The decision by the IFP to back out of a post-election agreement with the ANC in KwaZulu-Natal has been described as political sabotage. The deal was set to see the two parties supporting each other in hung councils where either of the party had won the most seats. Yesterday however, the IFP seemingly pulled back on that deal when its councillors in Newcastle voted the ANC out. The IFP reportedly teamed up with other opposition parties and got the mayoral chain and the speaker position.
