# The Electoral Commission says it’s on track with preparations for next year’s local government elections. Over 305-thousand new voters have registered between January and September this year, most using digital platforms. A total of 508 political parties are currently registered. Deputy chief electoral official Masego Sheburi told the media consultations are still underway to determine the exact date for the elections:
