GOOD says proper consultation needed before a budget that does not burden the poor can be tabled [SOUND]

# The GOOD Party is calling on the National Treasury to allow enough time for sufficient consultation before tabling the budget on the 12th of March. Finance minister Enoch Godongwana’s budget speech was postponed on Wednesday after parties in the government of national unity rejected the proposed two-percent value-added tax hike. GOOD’s secretary-general, Brett Herron, says the VAT increase would have raised almost 60-billion-rand in additional revenue for 2025/2026, which is quite frankly absurd:
