# Israeli authorities say global warming caused damage to the tune of 1.5-billion-rand to the country’s agricultural sector last year. The Israeli Insurance Fund for National Risks in Agriculture says in a report fruit was hit hardest, especially summer fruit such as peaches, nectarines and plums, because a warmer than usual winter prevented them from developing properly. The Times of Israel reports agricultural insurance surveyors received about 11-thousand claims of damage to crops last year.
