# DA Gauteng shadow MEC for Health Jack Bloom says the Gauteng Provincial Government is settling the legal bill for the top officials subpoenaed to give evidence at the Life Esidimeni Inquest to determine the cause of death of 144 mental health patients. According to Bloom Gauteng premier David Makhura disclosed this information in response to his questions in the Gauteng Legislature. Bloom says the top officials should pay for their own legal representation:
