# A bus driver and 86 passengers had to be rescued in the Free State early this morning. Police spokesperson Stephen Thakeng says the driver apparently ignored road signs on the R-30 near Bothaville, which indicated the road was closed due to flooding. The Intercape bus was travelling from Mthatha in the Eastern Cape to Tshwane in Gauteng when it got trapped. Members of SAPS diving unit were activated to assist officers from the Allanridge police station. No injuries were reported and the men, women and children were brought to safety.
