# Police have confirmed that 14 illegal miners resurfaced from shaft ten of the old Buffelsfontein gold mine in Stilfontein, North West last night. This is as Operation Vala Umgodi enters another week. They are all from Mozambique. Police spokesperson, Athlenda Mathe, says the 14 opted to emerge late at night, assuming law enforcement officials were no longer present. She adds that some immediately ran back upon noticing the police presence:
