# Former South African Revenue Services executive Johann van Loggerenberg has called on the government to take the safety of whistleblowers and state witnesses seriously. This comes after his house was burgled in the early hours of yesterday morning, days after former Government Communications and Information Systems boss Themba Maseko’s house was targeted. The two testified at the state capture inquiry. Van Loggerenberg’s attorneys, Werksmans say the robbers only managed to steal mere copies of the actual evidence of state capture and criminal activity and the proper records are kept elsewhere.
