# Three sector education and training authority organisations have soft launched the Green Hydrogen Centre of Specialisation. The centre, which will officially launch next year, will offer hybrid training programmes, with specialised courses aimed at upskilling and reskilling individuals for the green hydrogen and derivatives industry. Green hydrogen will be in high demand as countries aim to reduce carbon emissions, especially in sectors like transportation and heavy industries. The Hydrogen Economy is projected to contribute 3.6-percent to South Africa’s gross domestic product and create 380-thousand jobs by 2050.
