# Road traffic authorities in the Eastern Cape say they are targeting buses to ensure they are roadworthy as people head home after the festive season break. They are expecting traffic volumes to and from the Eastern Cape to peak. Inspections have been already undertaken by a provincial and national traffic enforcement team in Mthatha. Acting provincial traffic director Charles Bramwell says more than 20 buses were checked and eight were found to be unroadworthy and impounded. He called on the owners of these buses to ensure there is alternative transport for the passengers.
