# The Eastern Cape Health Department has decided to unconditionally release its 128 bursary holders who could not secure employment due to a contractual agreement between the two parties. A spokesperson says the department also gave the health practitioners, who include 91 post-community service doctors, a new one-month contract to the end of January. They were part of the more than two-thousand-700 community health workers who protested because they stood to lose their jobs when their contracts end on the 31st of March.
