Donations to the Democratic Party surge following Biden’s endorsement of Harris

# Donations to the Democratic Party have surged since president Joe Biden announced he won’t be seeking re-election and endorsed his vice president Kamala Harris. Some of the party’s top financiers opted to hold back funds after Biden’s June debate performance drew concerns from Democrats about his mental acuity. ActBlue, which funnels public donations to Democratic candidates, says grassroots supporters have now raised around eight-billion-rand since Biden endorsed Harris. About four-thousand Democratic delegates are set to meet in Chicago next month to pick the party’s nominee.
