# The DA in Gauteng is calling for a review of all hospital food contracts, to ensure reliable and cost-effective delivery from the highly competitive local market. This comes as the provincial Health Department has revealed that 23 hospitals bought 7.1-million-rand worth of groceries from Free State companies. The DA’s, Jack Bloom, says the hospitals procured a wide variety of fruits and vegetables, as well as milk, tea, coffee, oatmeal, and cooking oil, among other items:
