# The DA in Gauteng has expressed concern at the jump in medical negligence payouts in the province, rising to 696-million-rand last year from 512-million-rand in 2022. Whereas most other provinces showed a decrease in payouts, Gauteng’s have gone up by 36-percent. The DA’s, Jack Bloom, says in sharp contrast, medical negligence payouts in the Western Cape have dropped 27-percent to 120-million-rand:
