# A critical online system for the Unemployment Insurance Fund has been down for over a month due to a procurement dispute involving a 128-million-rand tender. The new service provider, AfriNova Digital, was forced to cease operations shortly after starting work on 19 August, following an interim interdict granted to the previous provider, Internet Filing. The outage has prompted criticism from the Congress of South African Trade Unions which called on Employment and Labour minister, Nomakhosazana Meth to intervene and restore access for vulnerable workers.
