# Cricket: Cape Town’s new mayor, Geordin Hill-Lewis, promised the city will lend it’s support to the organisers of the one-day World Cup that will take place in South Africa, Namibia and Zimbabwe in 2027. The International Cricket Council announced the three neighbouring countries as co-hosts this week. The Mother City was picked as one of the host cities for the international showpiece. Hill-Lewis says the metro fully supports Cricket South Africa as it starts its journey towards preparing for the event. South Africa previously staged the tournament in 2003.
