China warns United States it will not tolerate interference

# China warned the United States it doesn’t tolerate interference after the US State Department called Hong Kong’s announcement of bounties on six overseas-based democracy campaigners a form of transnational repression. Beijing quashed political dissent in Hong Kong by a security law in 2020 after violent protests the year before. Many opposition figures fled abroad, while others have been arrested and sentenced to years in jail. Hong Kong this week announced rewards of around 2.4-million-rand for information leading to the arrest of six individuals now living abroad.
